TAMPA — Rita Maxwell, Vice President of Finance and Accounting for Visual Awareness Technologies and Consulting, Inc., has been recognized as a finalist in the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s CFO of the Year Awards. The awards recognize extraordinary finance professionals in the Tampa area.

In addition to her role at VATC, where she is responsible for overseeing finance and accounting for a rapidly growing, multimillion dollar global company, Rita is Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Tampa Bay Chapter of Women in Defense, and has previously served on the Board of Directors of the Upper Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce. She is heavily involved in the Tampa community, and has financial officer experience in defense, private sector companies and public governments, including serving as Controller of the Lighting Systems Business Segment at Goodrich Aerospace, and as the former Assistant Finance Director for the City of Safety Harbor, Fla.
The final winner of the CFO of the Year Awards will be announced on Thursday, Feb. 2 from 11:15 AM to 1:30 PM at the Bryan Glazer Family JCC. The awards are sponsored by BB&T, CBIZ MHM and Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick.
